Sometimes volunteering can be a good way to build up skills and confidence before getting a paid job. Plus it can be very rewarding. This is an online event on Wednesday 5 February which may give some inspiration but if not CCVS will have lots of other options
The fair will feature presentations from each of the following organisations who offer a range of opportunities, some in person and some remotely or online, including befriending, helping with activities, volunteer driving, helping with equipment or paperwork, helping fundraise, helping in a charity shop, marketing and so much more.
• Cam Sight – a charity for people with low vision and blindness to live the lives they choose
• Cambridgeshire Deaf Association – a charity for people with hearing impairment and the Deaf community
• Arthur Rank Hospice Charity – providing care for people with life limiting illnesses
• Awesome Oral Health – outreach project to primary schools to help address inequalities in dental hygiene knowledge
• Denny Abbey and the Farmland Museum – help share the story of Cambridgeshire fens
• Home Start Cambridgeshire –supporting families with children under 5
• Woodgreen Pets Charity – supporting pets and their owners
• Papworth Trust – offers a range of support for adults with disability.
After each presentation there will be the chance to ask questions.
People can attend the whole fair, or just pop in and out as they wish.
